Repeat Prescriptions

You may be allowed some treatment on prescription without seeing the Doctor although you will need to be seen every six months.

Please give 48 hours notice for repeat prescriptions and 48 hours for on line prescription requests excluding weekends and bank holidays for your request to be processed.

Repeat prescription requests over the telephone are restricted to patients that are housebound or over 65 years old. Please call after 2.00pm for this service in order to prevent blocking the telephone lines.

PATIENT NOTICE

For safety reasons from the 31st Dec 2018 we will no longer be taking requests for repeat medication over the telephone

From this date requests for repeat medications can be made:

On-line - Ask a receptionist to register you for on-line services

In person - requests can be posted into the prescription box in the surgery reception area. Please use the computerised repeat script form where possible to avoid the risk of errors and remember to tick all items required. If you require your prescription to be posted to you please provide a stamped addressed envelope

By Fax - Please fax your request to 01268 690498

Through your Local Pharmacy - Ask your local pharmacy about their Repeat Prescription ordering and collection service.

Whichever way you choose please allow us at least 2 working days to prepare your prescription and for it to be checked and signed by the doctor

Antibiotics will not be given over the phone without having seen or spoken to the Doctor.

The prescribing of antibiotics for dental abscesses is not encouraged. GP's are not trained in dental problems and patients will always be advised that it would be in their best interests to seek a dental opinion. Only in exceptional circumstances will we issue a prescription
